The Beach comes to the Show!

When we think of Kent, we normally associate the county with the Garden of England, a wonderful larder that grows some of the best produce in the county. Our strawberries, apples, pears, raspberries and cherries are amongst the best in the world but we also have an impressive 350 miles of beaches, cliffs and coves. Kent has one of the longest coastlines of any county in Britain.

There are 11 Blue Flag beaches, including the wonderful sandy beaches of Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs, and of course the world famous White Cliffs of Dover. The Kent coastline offers an amazing variety; from the sandy shores of the beaches, to the more diverse coastlines around Shepway and the Isle of Sheppey.

Using 15 tons of sand and hundreds of litres of water, Travarts will be building a life size cow. The cow will be almost 3 metres long and stand at a height of 1.5 metres. Visitors will be able to watch the creation of this sculpture and youngsters will be able to take part in some have-a-go sand art on the stand. Pop along to stand number 137 located near the Garden Life Marquee to watch the seaside come to the heart of Kent.
